About the Firm
A West Alabama law firm rooted in Eutaw since 1997
Griess, Shaw & Willingham, P.C. is a full-service law firm in Eutaw, Alabama — three partners with deep roots in the Black Belt and decades of experience in its courtrooms.
Our story
Our firm began the way many good things in small towns do: with two lawyers who believed their neighbors deserved serious legal representation without driving to Birmingham or Tuscaloosa to get it. In 1997, Walter Griess — a former prosecutor with two decades in West Alabama's courtrooms — and David Shaw opened Griess & Shaw, P.C. on Main Street in Eutaw.
In 2015, Zane Willingham, a Greene County native, joined as partner, and the firm became Griess, Shaw & Willingham, P.C. Today the three partners handle nearly every legal need a West Alabama family, farm, or business encounters — criminal defense, personal injury, family law, real estate, probate, and civil litigation.
We measure our work the same way our clients do: by results, by responsiveness, and by whether we'd be proud to run into you at the courthouse, the church, or the grocery store afterward. In a community like ours, we will.
